Thanks for that BB and I agree with your conclusion as well the badge being a mess before the new kit.

As an aside, I see the new kit is produced by an american company with no track record in footie. A good little earner for someone!

Yeah, Liverpool, it's the second biggest deal in football after Barcelona, 25 million a year.

I read 4th, after ManU and Real Madrid as well, with Liverpool on 900,000 worldwide sales. Can't recall where I got that, but it was yesterday.

Edit - I'm talking sales not sponsorship value

2nd edit - thats less than what you paid for Andy Carroll!

In all honesty the both of them have been shite for the most part. Who knows how much that obscene price tag has caused a difference in their play. Moving to a new team and adapting to a different style of play is hard enough as it is but whack a massive price on said person along with huge expectations and... who knows how it affects them mentally.

On a plus side for both teams in recent weeks they have both been showing a vast improvement - Carrol especially. Let's see how it pans out the next season... you never know maybe they might start playing like that money wasn't wasted.

Torres has been criminally underused (Although when you've got Drogba........) and basically needs the team set up around him, only Benitez (And Gerrard TBF) has ever brought out the very best in him when he was probably the best goalscorer in the world, his record for Spain, Atletico and Chelsea is poor but he's got a fair amount of assists at Chelsea and he seems to have adapted his game a bit.

Wrong team/style of play. Ironically he hasn't been injured at Chelsea, which he frequently was at Liverpool (Possibly because we overplayed him)

Carroll IMHO deserves a little more leeway, hes younger and obviously never wanted or expected to leave Newcastle at the time, and although he's obviously a brute on the pitch seems a bit of a soft arse when he's interviewed. Likeable lad.

Bizarrely I think his strop and getting booed off at Newcastle may have been a turning point, you play for Liverpool now, no going back. He's been decent all year but if he can repeat his last 3 or 4 performances consistently he's a real beast.

We got £60 million off Chelsea for Torres (28) and Meireles (29), we bought Carroll (23) and Suarez (25) for £57 million, I think we got the better deal.

I wouldn't do a straight swap for both of their players for Suarez, he's the most exciting player in the league for me.

He genuinely is though, I don't think he knows what he's doing next half the time. He hasn't got the finesse of an RVP or Silva yet but he's the most unpredictable and exciting for me. Nobody else in the Premier League would have made that Essien own goal.

Only Suarez, Aguero and Van Persie in the Premier League have got the pure technical ability to be classed alongside Messi and Ronaldo. (Perhaps a rung below because those 2 are that good)

I can understand he's got a face opposing fans may want to punch but the lad nutmegs people for fun and can skin the likes of Terry over and over again.

He's a C***, but he's our C***. :thumb:

I think Suarez is very good, but the problem for the scousers is can they keep him? It really depends on how they fare next season and if they don't start well? Even so, I'm not sure the hyperbole is yet deserved and which player picked up the FA Cup?

As for Torres, I think BaaBaa sums him up well, but its been quite a while since he was put on the teamsheet and everyone groaned. I think he has adapted his game and I think RDM has helped, at least thats what Torres says! I think Drogba will stay at Chelsea, but I expect Torres will be the main striker and with Mata being all the better for having had his 1st season in the premiership, will fill the 'Gerrard' role.

I expect RDM to stay and Abramavich to spend, but as Martin Samuel said in his column the other week, evolution, not revolution is whats needed at Chelsea.

And yes BaaBaa, 1-0 to you - for now!

Agree that Mata could fill that Gerrard roll, the kids got skills. (Not quite Gerrard skills though!)

Suarez has done alot more than been accused of racism in England Caller, his international record speaks for itself, and I'm not claiming he's Messi, but he's very very good.

Next season is gonna be interesting, all bar City are in a period of transition.
