The new Spartacus series SPARTACUS:VENGANCE is shaping up nicely and like a good game of chess the pieces are being brought into play slowly one by one. The CGI splatter is up and each episode has a heavy body count which doesnt detract from the nice little multi strand plot that is developing. Series 2 also sees back story's filled in for characters like Onomaeus the ex-lanister and the orrible Ashur has popped up again.
They have had to replace the main actor as the last one sadly died, but even though the new one is titchy and undersized, particularly when stood next to the brick wall on legs that is Crixus, he does an adequate job. What he looses in physical presence he seems to make up with smouldering anger looks.
A good sign for me is that at the end of each episode I wish a week would fly by till the next. Good recc all on its own.
It will be shown eventually on TRUE but Id recc you find downloads that are free of the censors edits - easy enough to find online.
"Science flew men to the moon. Religion flew men into buildings."
The second series of GAME OF THRONES is out and about on the net now....episodes 1 and 2 so far. Its as excellent as the last series and looks set to be another stormer. Coming to True mid April in its usual censored format.
THE BORGIAS is also returning in April, and episode 1 of season 2 is out on the net in prebroadcast leaked form. Similarly excellent watching and Im lookng forward to another season of Rennaissance backstabbing and deviltry.
This duo season start nicely makes up for the fact that WALKING DEAD and SPARTACUS VENGANCE have finished their spring season runs. The last episode of SPARTACUS was a proper deck clearing shocker....top quality entertainment.
Fans of the alien invasion sci fi soap series FALLING SKIES wll have to wait till mid summer for season 2 to debut.

Three part History Channel epic mini-series made by Kevin Kostner about the long term feudin an a shootin match between two hillbilly clans that went from a dispute over a pig to a fully blown war between the two extended families just after the US Civil War.
Top stuff "Centennial" style big budget entertanment and well worth downloading.
