PALA U Falls

Post by TingTongJohn »

Just did a small trip up to La pa U falls. Dry at sea level but pouring as soon as we got up by the falls. There are a number of levels or steps as you climb up (13 in total?)but really the first level is safe for all as in the path and a place to view with ease of access after that it is a slippery muddy track with ropes along the canyon as you climd to stop you falling into the stream. Steep and then some at time. It poured the whole way up as I was soaked but its warm so really not a issue. Good set of hiking boots are needed as well as water. Sandels would be a bad idea IMHO. Sure bring a camera but It may get soaked or damaged if you slip and fall. There is a double pricing here as in most national parks and farang pay Thai do not oh well(100baht?) The sad part is the amount of litter and trash all the way up left along the path by the patrons who are visiting.

[Mod Edit] I've changed your title, as I'm sure you mean Pala U Falls. However, if you've visited somewhere that I'm not familiar with, please advise, and the edit can be reversed.

Interesting, well atleast seeing the elephants excrement is a positive sign that they are still surviving in the area. You should also know that most wild animals are not going to come into close contact with areas that humans have encroached on there habitat as the Pala U waterfall. Monkeys are all you will see just like in Hua Hin at the local expat bar, right? Thanks for the input..

There was a thread on here a while back where people were talking about encountering elephants on the road to Pala U.

There are monkeys that do frequent the busy parts of town. Usually via the phone and power cables

^ Yes, there's a wild elephant preserve in that area.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
