Premier League 2011-2012
Re: Premier League 2011-2012
It's the PFA, a load of Brits who stick together, manipulate the media and bow at the feet of lord Ferguson.
They even managed to get an inept journeyman one the biggest jobs in world football.

Being a Yank I have thoughts about these things. Ferguson has given strong verbal support for Kean. Could it go further than that in the Premier League and he "massaged" a match that meant little to MU, but the world to Blackburn? I don't know how close these two men are, but the above is a thought that entered my head this morning when I saw the results and remembered Ferguson's supportive comments after the Bolton match. Corruption is corruption Sateeb, and please don't say that British sports are above that.sateeb wrote: Pete....Stick to NFL mate...if you think that match loss meant little to Man U you are wider off the mark than the Grand Canyon.

Ferguson rules the league with an iron fist and intimidation.
Benitez tried to bring it up in the media, he got torn to shreds, unsurprisingly.

And you're not off the mark Pete.
You're seeing it for you what it is.

The New Year's football got even better. Sadly, though, it was an offside goal.

What a New Year for football excitement and there's still three more days left followed by F.A. cup's 3rd round on the weekend. Great time to have a winter vacation.

Just seen a post-match interview with Martin O'Neill.
I'm sorry, but he really needs to take some lessons in manager-speak.
You can't use words like "epitomise" and expect any fans or players to know what you're talking about.

To be honest, as I much as I struggle with our new manager, he got lucky, in that its 'as you were' after this weekend.
Tomorrow, I'll have a look on the FA report on Suarez!

That might well be so. However, IMHO he'd be the man to get the England job next. He's been succesful as a manager everywhere else but Norwich (and that's only because he didn't really have any chance there.) He's led teams which haven't been too fancy to success, within their own limitations and I think he will do the same at Sunderland. Yes, he's from Northern Ireland so not quite a jolly Englishman but then again, you could always blame him for that, if he didn't make you World Champions.Just seen a post-match interview with Martin O'Neill.

Also O'Neill played under the management of great Brian Clough. In his book "Cloughie - walking on water" Cloughie says: "I always thought Martin O'Neill was cut out for a future in management because he ws bright and sharp, a right smart-arse who was fully prepared to stand his ground and answer back when he believed he was right. He was also bursting with enthusiasm for the game."

Sorry, BG, obviously didn't make myself clear. I was intending to be ironic, in that his vocabulary is far too sophisticated for your average ex-player now manager. I think he's a great manager and would be quite happy to have him at Spurs when Arry goes.
