Regardless of tribal allegiances, I'm genuinely confused by the contradiction in these two cases, which appear to be fundamentally the same. Suarez has been dealt with by the FA and an appeal is in the pipeline; Terry is being dealt with by the judicial system.
If Terry is found guilty and given a slap on the wrist (fine, community service, whatever

), can the FA take further action? Maybe (trying to remember what happened after Barton's conviction). If he's found
not guilty, can the FA take further action? Presumably not!
If there is enough evidence to punish Suarez (or rather Liverpool) so severely, then why isn't his case being referred to the police?
