[quote="Bamboo Grove"]....... Now what about J. Terry?

Yes indeed, let me throw the cat in with the pigeons now. His incident happened earlier than the Suarez incident. However, Terry is a British lad and long established player in the ranks of English football, whereas Suarez is simply another non-British minority new comer to English football. Best we deliberate much longer and harder concerning Terry..... Could there possibly be racists in the FA and other governing bodies? Pete

Brave John Terry to face criminal charges.

I think the Suarez verdict is going to open a shitstorm.

Why are you amused by that?

He also, as Suarez, is insisting he's innocent. The timing is interesting and also the fact 'new evidence' has swayed the CPS, having asked the Police for more. Presumably the 4(?) QPR player witnesses/statements carried insufficient weight?

Lets see what comes out in the wash, as with Suarez.

From BBC live:
It's the 20,000th Premier League goal, but more importantly it has won me £14 English pounds. You boy, is that the turkey in the shop as big as you still there? Fetch it for me and you shall have half-a-crown.
Arrggh, the goal was against Arsenal and those were the very words I said in our school's Christmas Play last year doing Ebenezer Scrooge. Double insult, arrrggh.

Well, happy ending there, as it was for Scrooge, too.

I don`t know what he said in this case but he is a twat in most things he says, how can a failed manager be deemed an expert. (and this from a fellow Janner)

Because it's John Terry, arsehole extraordinaire, with a page full of misdemeanours to prove it.

Regardless of tribal allegiances, I'm genuinely confused by the contradiction in these two cases, which appear to be fundamentally the same. Suarez has been dealt with by the FA and an appeal is in the pipeline; Terry is being dealt with by the judicial system.

If Terry is found guilty and given a slap on the wrist (fine, community service, whatever  ), can the FA take further action? Maybe (trying to remember what happened after Barton's conviction). If he's found not guilty, can the FA take further action? Presumably not!

If there is enough evidence to punish Suarez (or rather Liverpool) so severely, then why isn't his case being referred to the police?

Because Suarez is foreign and it's literally a linguistic misunderstanding, Terry is England's brave lion.
