No, caller, it doesn't make me to want to puke. I actually prefer Chelskea to Manure. But in these things, it's a player that I value, not the club, so yes, let's add John Terry there as well.

And come to think of it, Frank Lampard as well, both great West Ham players.

He's a decent player but he's got a long way to go before he gets mentioned in the same company as rooney & coBaaBaa. wrote:
Liverpool bought Suarez for £24 mill who has just won the player of the Copa America as well as the cup itself. I think he's got the ability to be included in the top top bracket. Better than Rooney and co.

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
The only reason I mentioned Rooney is because of his English media hype.
In my humble opinion Suarez will eclipse Rooney.
He's 3 years younger and already better. A fully fit Van Persie is a better player than Rooney but he's one of them Hollanders. Rooney is the most overrated player on the planet.
Luis Suarez, quote me. Player of the year!
Gerrard has been a better player than Rooney will ever be.

Sadly that phrase now best describes your Stevie G......gonna miss the start of the season,31 years old,not played too much the last couple of seasons......BaaBaa. wrote:

He's been a fantastic player for you but best to start planning for life without him.
Rooney, deffo overrated......he had one superb season a couple of years ago after Ronaldo left.Last year he was awful and lived in Ronaldo's shadow before he left for Real Madrid.
I remember watching United in Ronaldo's last season and thinking if United get a decent offer for Rooney they should accept it for he was contributing little.
But then he was excellent when Ronaldo left,so maybe he will come good again this season.
The North West will dominate the Premiership this season.....United,Citeh and Liverpool ......but not sure in which order.
Dont know whats happening to Wenger and Arsenal.....he comes across as some eccentric old schoolteacher whose lost the plot and waiting for early retirement. They wont be in the top 4.
Chelsea....Villas-Boas is an excellent young coach but he's inherited a squad that was ageing even a couple of years ago.If Chelsea have a mediocre season I can see Abramovic weilding the axe again and bringing in Hiddink which would be grossly unfair on Villas-Boas.
Spurs.....need to make one or two signings quickly to ensure they stay with the leading pack in the Premiership.
Still, spare a thought for Everton......goalkeeper,Andy Lonergan, had been training with the club for a few weeks, impressing David Moyes who wanted him as cover for Tim Howard.
Then Leeds stepped in with a 150,000 GBP bid, which Everton couldnt match, and Lonergan signed for them instead......worrying for Everton fans or what ?
We're all on our uppers,we're all going skint,

I would have thought that our Baa Baa will be shocked and saddened to hear this news.Still, spare a thought for Everton......goalkeeper,Andy Lonergan, had been training with the club for a few weeks, impressing David Moyes who wanted him as cover for Tim Howard.

I'd already heard the sad news.
Zidane, how dare you say Rooney was awful last season, did you not see his bicycle kick (that he invented) off his shin?
One particularly crap tabloid had a centre page frame by frame pullout of this outlandish new skill, it ranks alongside the Cruyff turn. The Rooney shinner!
Why the predictions for a good LFC season GLC and Zidane? Dalglish? Suarez? Carroll?

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
All of the above.
You saw how strong Liverpool were in the second half of the season (didn't trouble spurs at the time though
)
You probably know the figures Baa Baa. How many points did they take in the second half compared to the first?
I just have this feeling they are going to have a very good season.

Anyone who'd like to bet? I'll bet Arsenal are in top four this season.

Yes, I wish Liverpool all the very best and hope they have a wonderful season, finishing just behind Spurs.

This is the way
Re: Premier League 2011-2012
Not sure on the exact points GLC but under Dalglish we were 2nd or 3rd on the form table, behind Chelsea and possibly somebody else (or not) most goals scored, most cleansheets, handed out some thrashing and played some good Football.
I'm kind of quietly confident for top 4 (we won't win it) but as good as Kenny is we were under no pressure when he came in and it could have been new manager syndrome, we'll see.
PS Thank fuck Roy has gone (Caller rated him) and Suarez rocks..

I think you'll be fighting it out with us and possibly Spuds. Top 3 will be the 2 Mancs and Chelsea in any given order.Bamboo Grove wrote:Anyone who'd like to bet? I'll bet Arsenal are in top four this season.

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
We're coming up to August now. I know there's still a month to go before the transfer window closes, but I'm a bit surprised that Spurs haven't spent any money. Are we simply hoping that a couple of last season's strikers will come good this year? Is 'Arry keeping 'is options open in case Modric goes? Will Modric go? Is Friedel really the best answer we can find to the Gomes problem? We surely won't be relying on Gomes in goal again, will we...?
It all seems a bit wing and a prayer to me at the moment.

You do realise that 'Arry has bankrupt every club he's ever been at?
When's his court case?

Yep, & with all the new signings, the expectation levels have risen.BaaBaa. wrote: . . . . . . but as good as Kenny is we were under no pressure when he came in and it could have been new manager syndrome, we'll see.
Being viewed as contenders, there will be an extra amount of pressure to perform this season

We've been written off, yet again, lucky if we finish in the top six according to some pundits

We'll see
