Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?

And another thing, we all know that some tourists "steal" food from breakfast to have for lunch. [Racist remarks removed in accordance with board T&Cs]

Re: Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?
Im lucky in that Ive travelled around the globe a fair bit and have thus encountered people from all walks of life and all nationalities. Ive found that people are much the same the world over, national quirks aside.
That said, the consistently rudest people I have encountered are Chinese, who are ignorant and rude as a matter of national identity it seems. No respecters of queing or being polite, and nasty habits like blowing fag smoke in your face and hawking and spitting.
Isrealis come in a close second - mostly I bumped into them travelling in Northern India and while working in Cambodia. They are just rude and arsey all the time.
Its not fair to go on about buffet behaviour. Try a stint at the all you can eats in Vegas and revisit those opinions.

Well, I suppose if we see a Russian section in the HH forum soon, we may know if they are coming to HH or not. That would be a big clue
They have the cash

Never had a problem with Chinese or Israelis. You just need to know how to handle them. Got to agree on the hawking and spitting though, also the pushing and shoving in front of you. As for buffets the worst offenders I have ever seen are English. I catered weddings etc. when I had the pub in the UK. It was embarrassing to watch a crowd of people charge at the buffet when the foil came off and stuff their plates so full of food that they could not possibly eat and then proceed to prove me wrong by stuffing their faces like they were going for the world record and rushing back for another kilo or two after 10 minutes in case they missed out on anything.

Friend of mine worked summers in the Catskills north of NYC and people would stuff themselves silly at the buffet ("smorgasboard" in those days) and have a double slice of 10-layer chocolate cake for dessert. They were too pigged-out to eat it so they mashed their fork through it, logic being "I'm paying for it..." They would also scream and rant if the orange juice was 1/4 inch below the top of the glass.

Re: Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?
Sandman mentioned the Chinese being rude..well at BKK airport last week I saw that non-stop... being
slightly disabled and using a stick when walking makes me slightly wider & less agile for moving sideways...
..Chinese (could have been Korean?) were just marching straight at me, then giving me bad looks & muttering when I got in their way...no attempt made to move to the side prior to meeting me head-on.
(Or is this same as the Thai driver-syndrome..never,ever give way..just barge-on thru'..??)

Re: Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?
Last year at the Hilton BKK my wife and I took the elevator down to the lobby. It stops a group of older Chinese looking women storm into the elevator, doors close it goes back-up.
Neither we nor another couple had the chance to get out !
Right there I said "money does not compensate missing behaviour" but I doubt they understood or cared.

Re: Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?
This is something I picked up yesterday in front of Villa Market. Russians definitely are infesting Hua Hin.
It'll be the same as it was in Marbella, there's gone be a great Decent Flight* from Hua Hin, much as it was
from Marbella.
First to leave Marbella after first Russian avalanche was Sean Connery, the others followed.

My next stop'll propably be Prachuap. Shame, it was nice in Hua Hin as long as it lasted.

Re: Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?
Maybe we should just start a thread on "nationalities we'd welcome in Hua Hin", then we can just assume the rest are a bunch of tossers.
This is the way

I guess if more Russian's do flow into Hua Hin and start using this great site, they may get a little shock when stumbling into this thread.
As has been said.... all nationalities have there share of numpties. I have never really had a chat with a Russian but I can't believe they're as bad as this thread makes them out to be.

Re: Are the Russians coming to Hua Hin?
Is it really necessary to impart these kinds of opinions on others about others?
I am Scottish and Scotland is a very mixed bag, I have some amazing friends and also I have met people that I would not care to meet again.
Is this not true of most nations,
I have met many nationalities here and I have offerred helping hands to many, sad to say that the select few will return the favour or truely appreciate the gesture.
Hua Hin is a multi-cultural environment, we create our environment to an extent.
Is nation bashing our environment in a multi cultural town? This does not sound correct?
Why can't we say nice things about other nations,
I am Scottish and we are accused of being anti English, if this was the case then why are they my friends, I enjoy their football as ours is turning into a war.
Fear of the unknown and stereotyping allow small minds to put things in perspective.
