Yes... well I think so anyway!? I've got vers. 4.0.1 and it's just been crashing similar to that maybe 3 times a day, last 2 days. But I didn't notice updating Firefox at all, maybe it did without me noticing??
After it crashes, it gives the appearance that FF has closed down, ie: you just see the 'closed down' FF button on taskbar... but when I click it a message says something like "FF is open, you need to close last session first", but you can't see it open anywhere to close it, then if I right click the button and choose 'open new tab' or 'open in new window'... I get FF up and open again at my default setting.
Don't know if this helps, I'll look out for real message next time, and try Buksi's link too.

SJ, what you have described was similar to what I had happening, I was getting error messages up all the time which I submitted to FF, so will see if I get any follow up.
I have now put the earlier version back in now and disabled all the add ons and all seems OK now. When I get some spare time, I will install the latest version and see what happens and if need be try Buks fix. Just need my machine to be fully operational at the moment

FF4 was a resource hog on my old (XP) machine so I went back to the previous version and all is well. Still running FF 4.0.1 on my Windows 7 netbook and did have one mysterious (black screen) crash and lock up. I couldn't even power the machine down; had to remove/reinsert the battery to reboot, but seems to be ok since then.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Buksida and Norseman, thanks to both for the advice. I think it's turned into a sodding nuisance rather than a major disaster.
For info: Buksi, the second link (destroy-malware) didn't link to anything. The first link told me how to get back on line via the Task manager and the third pointed me to a portable scanner called SUPERantispyware that was extremely useful.
I have been happy with FF4 and Win7 since the time you converted me from Vista to Win 7 however this is baffling me. All was well until last week I downloaded Advanced Systems software and ran there Malware product. FF4 then ceased to load. After rebooting and then deleting the AS stuff and FF I rebooted and reloaded FF4.
It is installed but wont load up. It's running background processes so I cannot delete it unless I reboot

I spoke too soon when I said all my problems were solved. Everything seemed OK until I actually tried to open a program - application not found, or choose an application in which to open the program. Anyway, one of Buksi's links led me to a forum that suggested using System recovery. Did this, back to June 9th, rebooted and all was OK. Have now scanned with Malwarebytes and Avast and all is working normally. Touch wood.

That's perfectly normal, Windows 7 will adjust how much memory it demands depending on how much is installed, that list would probably drop down to about 800Mb if you'd only had 2Gb installed.

Contact Thomas at http://www.invadeit.com/ through their "contact us" page if you can't find anyone with one for sale. They have a small store out near the airport in Hua Hin but can order almost anything from Bangkok and get it in a couple of days. The sell Acer products so I suspect they can get you one.

I was staying at a cottage in Wales last week, and they were using that same device to give us network coverage. We had to re-boot it a few times (when it lost connection to the main router), but generally it easily supported 3 or 4 devices, and gave us a pretty good service.
