Stevie can hardly come out and say what a steaming pile of durge Hodgson was serving up though can he? I can though.

Besides, the media made that sound a lot kinder than it was. Gerrard was on a show, he got asked a question, he said what he had to say, it's not as though he came out and backed Hodgson, he was put on the spot.

In comparison I'd say that's about right. Hodgson managed to lose at Anfield to Northampton, Blackpool and Wolves, Benitez won at The Bernabeau, The Nou Camp and The San Siro.

That's before you start comparing win percentages and trophys won throughout their respective careers, poor old Roy isn't in Benitez stratosphere.

Avram Grant has got a better CV than Hodgson, he's won nothing mind but he's been a close loser a lot more times.

Hodgson was reported as saying he didn`t get any particular satisfaction at beating Liverpool, yeah right.

Who are the three likely to come up this year? I know QPR looks certain, but not sure about the other two. Pete

Pete, we could be about to experience a Welsh invasion.

I blame Offa.

More on Offa and that Dyke (no not that Dyke), fanciful maybe:

George Borrow, in his classic Wild Wales, notes that once "it was customary for the English to cut off the ears of every Welshman who was found to the east of the dyke, and for the Welsh to hang every Englishman whom they found to the west of it". This story, and others like it, seem likely to be a later invention, however, Offa's Dyke has provided a potent symbol of Welsh-English antipathy ever since its creation. To many, this great earthwork symbolizes a permanent difference between national characters, and, in a curious way, seems to guarantee the separateness of Wales.

Wouldn't it be good if trye, oops sorry, true!?

Probably explains why the Welsh footballing hordes, having crossed the Dyke, like to wreck havoc in the bars and pubs of this fair land, wherever they go.

The footballing hordes are on a level of their own wherever they come from - certainly a minority in Wales, as rugby is our national sport............ we are unfortunately more patriotic than skillful!!

Are any Premier League teams public companies with stock traded on an exchange? I wouldn't mind owning a few shares of Liverpool and a few other teams. Pete

Very good result for Liverpool. :D When MC should be peaking, seems they are fading. Tevez only playing 9 minutes seems to me his groin is still not right, and may not be for the rest of the season. I think he has the same thing that has plagued Gerrard all season. Pete

Nice one Liverpool. Thanks for that.

Two very convincing wins against top four clubs in the last month or so and a close win against Chelsea. Too little too late for this year but I think for next year, with one or two new signings in certain positions you may... just may be contenders again. Gonna be interesting with 6 teams battling for that top four spot next year.
