The soi 51 rich kids car park

Post by buksida »

Violence in the Big Mango, death on the streets, Bangkok burning ... Ablazing Thailand!

You wouldn't have thunk it.

I was sitting at the end of soi 51 supping my first cold tin of Singha of the week as the sun went down after a hard day slaving over a hot keyboard ... the dark slowly descended on 'double H' this evening and a different picture panned out...

Low slung Mini Coopers rumble past, compact groups of Hi-So glitterati girls with iPhones and short skirts meander across the street, Lexuses (not sure that's a real plural) longer than a bus slink by, BMW's do the u-turn dance, overweight cops roll out of equally heavy SUV's, samba dancers from the local restaurant drop by for some ice, teenagers driving souped up Hondas and Toyotas drive purposely slow to attract the attention of the afore-mentioned glitterati, triple parked Benz drivers oblivious to general road users and population holler at their friends ... two feet away, the local military turns up - on push-bikes with no gears, a Porsche GT3 is spotted ... maybe its just a 911 with a body kit ...

Yes, it is official - we do live on a different planet here in Hua Hin.

As a side note.....this week I've seen many Mini Cooper look a likes driving around. I think they are a new model Suzuki but to me look exactly the same. I'm sure the not too rich kids will buy these and change the emblem kit. :D Pete

Buksi, does your week start on Saturday, have you been sick, just on the wagon, or been drinking Tequila since last Sunday?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

They will all be queueing up at the little chicken restaurant on the railway line today. Gone in 60 seconds springs to mind. Anyone got a few shipping containers?

These bozos who buy the mini make me laugh.

You pay THB 2.4 (or is ist 2.8, I forget) million for one of these posey toys.

For that money you can get a nice Honda Accord with all the trimmings. 8)

But hey - I'm an old fat bastard and it would not be cool to be in a mini

Hey Buksi
One thing you hafta consider Hua Hin has been for a long time (ever since I entered The Campus way inside Palm Hills) a resting Area for the Hi So and their Kids. So no wonder why so many rich Kids drive in their GT3 Porsche's, Lexus SUV's and other Luxury CArs lurk around on Hua Hin Streets. In Theory You are so spot On we really live on a diffrent world here in Hua Hin.

hhfarang: Had watched that movie as Well. in Addition to a few shipping containers I would suggest: A Laptop to crack them security code of them De Lux Vehicles, Car door Signal Interceptor plus opener, Quick loadable Car trailers with GPS blocking blankets. A safe house GPS track proof and ready to make mods to make the valueable loot untraceable. and A viola you got yourself a heist!

PS: I knew these new Techniques from an Article in German daily "Berliner Morgenpost" which reads the newest Grand Theft Auto Stats for Germany and Berlin is the undisputed Champion in Car Theft Stats in 2009!!

I was actually consuming the said beverage on Friday night after a dry week, naturally that lead into several more which inevitably lead to me posting crap on the forum at 2am!

The cars were amazing though, even back in the days when I worked in London I rarely saw so many posh wagons.

Saw two real lowriders in front of 'Garage' (just north of Soi 51) tonight. One an early '60s El Camino or Ranchero, the other a late 50s Lincoln, I think.

Couldn't believe my eyes. I lived in a heavily Hispanic area of the US where lowriders were very common. I was laughing so hard I almost wrecked my motorbike. Started having this weird Spanish/Thai nakleng/vato conversation in my head...

Here's a pic of this new Swift. If it doesn't look like a mini-cooper, I don't know what does. I saw a two tone the other day with brown sides and yellow roof, plus an accessory kit and you couldn't tell the difference. Pete
