Hey guys, im new to the forums and pretty new to Hua Hin. I have been a few times however so im not a total novice.
anyway, i was wondering how possible it was to get a taxi/tuk-tuk from palm hills into town and roughly how much it will cost. i know that the majority will live in or around the town so it may be a difficult question to answer.
from reading through the forums its pretty clear that bintabaht is the place to go get wasted in town, but i was wondering if there was anywhere a little closer to Palm Hills to grab a few cold ones in ? maybe even something nice to look at ?
In my experience, you need to ask a few good Tuk Tuk/Taxi drivers for their phone number - they'll usually give you their business card. You can then call them from wherever you are. Use the same driver regularly, and he/she'll be there within minutes.
cheers for the sharp response, i arrive in thailand on monday and am taxi riding it down to huahin. the problem still lies in getting a good taxi/tuk-tuk drivers number.
I've not been for a while, but I'll PM you a couple of numbers that I've used for years. Trouble is that you really need to speak to them first. If you simply cold call them, they'll turn up, but they might decide you look wealthy a can afford to pay premium prices
The mini van drivers pass me by but still make the trip from Hua Hin to condo in Mung Thong Thani, (which is north of Chang Wattana road near old airport) in about 2 hours and 30-45 minutes. Do use the bypass road since I live over the hill.

Hi Corvin,
I use to drive regularly between Bangkok and Hua Hin. The time required depends greatly on the density of traffic when getting out of Bangkok. Once you have passed the Rama IX bridge (south of Bangkok), you have to cope with an average 2 hours drive.

And double semi trailers deciding to do a'U' turn when our mini bus driver was just about breaking the sound barrier!!!Bloody scary and enough to make a man turn you to drink(as if I need an excuse!)
Love those mini-vans (buses) How much does it cost and how late do they run or how early do they start in the AM from BKK to HH. Would appreciate a PM on this. I'm arriving in BKK 2300 Tuesday.
