I am going to build a swimming pool on my plot.
What is the normal guarantee the builders give you?
Pool guarantee, contruction guarantee, pump(s) guarantee etc etc

Not trying to be flippant but I've found that almost any guarantee in this country is not worth the paper it is written on.
My advice is to find out from members what pool builder builds pools that do not need a guarantee because they don't have problems or find out if anyone has actually exercised rights under a guarantee that were honored.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
On the Eastern Seaboard here we got 2 years on everything except the pump which was 1 year. We exercised it 3-4 times in the first few months when faults discovered. Haven't had anything to try to claim since. 2 years is up around February. Have since been in pool shops and checked the guarantee on new pumps, regardless of brand name or reputation, and all seem to be 1 year.
Personally I would recommend Hayward Super Pump as when the motor goes bad, you can remove and replace it without having to replace the pump portion, or even remove the pump from it's mounted position. Many other pumps are one piece and can't do that. Very quiet as well. Pete

To clarify my first post above, the 3-4 faults were not major like a leaking pool etc. They were an electrical short, some bad pipe connections with the filter causing small leaks, and a few cracked tiles that needed to be replaced at the top of the pool where they met the stonewash. Pete

If you are talking to different builders, ask them about a service contract (cleaning and maintenance) and ask them for references.
Doing exactly that (and talking to the references), we quickly found the best company (out of 4 options) to build our pool.
We did not get a guarantee on the work itself, but off course there is guarantee on the parts used (pump, pipes etc.) Next to that, it is in the service contract that if something brakes it will be fixed without additional cost, exept from the pool lightning.
By the way. Are you making a saltwater or a cloride pool?
