So what is going on around here and where does it happen? This section is for discussion on local events, festivals, and holidays as well as activities and things to do.

Spray Bottle with water and ammonia

Post by dr. mark »

I used to be a long-distance bicyclist, and though I love dogs (have 5 street dogs I picked up from Costa Rica, Taiwan and California), seeing anything running brings out certain instincts.
I found that having a spray bottle with me, mostly water and a little bit of ammonia, absolutely does the trick and there will never be a repeat problem. Smaller than a stick, and you don't have to beat the poor things because of their instincts.

dr. mark I mentioned carrying a stick as well, I have never had to use it, just having it changes the way those soi dogs perceive you :D
I found the strays in Chiang Mai a lot more numerous and aggressive than in HH.

Are we talking about beach and streets around Hua Hin, friends.
Been staying there a number of times. Never seen or heard any problems with the free dogs living there. They are use to people and their funny attitude in social behaviour. They don't look for trouble, so it's obvious to assume that people having trouble 'aske' for it in one way or the other.
Try not to to be worried when you meet them. They smell your 'mind' immediately. Sounds funny, I know, but they do.
