Poolbars and Attractive company

Post by ukdog »

HI all,

As we are only coming for a few days, I would like to get a feel of HH before arrival. 8)

Not having been to HH in many years I am sure it has changed dramatically :) When I was there last, casual company was not that easily found and the available choice left a little to be desired.

As we will becoming via the Capital do we need to plan on bringing social partners, or is there now a larger community available within HH, allowing us to engage with the locally based folks of a certain quality?

I have noted the general theme of the board and attempted to meet with it, I trust I have not been to circumvent.

Thanks,

dog

I'm not sure how long it has been since you were in Hua Hin so it's a little difficult to tell you how much it has changed! However it has in the nearly 3 years I have been here, but even 3 years ago your requirements were being met. There are plenty of bars with pool tables (if that is what you meant, not bars in swimming pools :D ), and there are plenty of potential partners available, although I can't comment as to whether they would be to your personal taste, but I haven't heard many complaints. I imagine you would enjoy P & P Bar in particular, as a good starting point, but as the centre of town is fairly small with a relatively compact nightlife area it is easy to stroll around and find somewhere that suits you. You will undoubtedly make a visit to the Hilton disco which is OK in small doses and a good place to 'meet' people, as is the late drinking area (called the Night Bazaar) not far from there which is mainly karaokes. Another good place to start your evening is the area around Johnnie Walkers bar - check the map on this site - JWs has the best pool table in town and you will meet some other locals who can guide you to some other places. Hope that helps.

Hi Wanderlust,

About 8 years :D and at that time it was almost a desert rather than dessert.

Usually we take a 4 / 5 day semester on Samui or Phuket but thought it was time to try an alternative.

CM was less than satisfying female wise, so my mate came up with the idea of HH and in trying to find out how much it may have altered, I figured some local expat knowledge should be sort, as the bars were not that numerous nor the lady selection that great during my previous visit.

Just wanted to make sure there was some good company to be had now :D

Thanks for taking time out to reply :thumb: I guess we'll be coming down to spend a few bob and find out.
