Re: Hua Hin floods
Cheers Winkie. That's interesting news. I think this will pass in the next few days. But then again it may be down to Cathay Pacific, who may have to change our flights around if we can't get into Bangkok or complete our holiday itinarary. Fingers crossed everything is ok two weeks and three days fr...

Re: Hua Hin floods
Actually, the manager at the hotel sent me train times up. I think I may try that out. Get a chance to meet the locals, if the train isn't affected by 18th November that is! Thank you everyone for your help so far. I may be posting again about things very soon!!!!

Re: Hua Hin floods
Excellent stuff. We will get one from central Bangkok then - unless we have to avoid Bangkok for good that is!

Re: Hua Hin floods
Oh well thrills and spills all the way. There was something on Absolute Radio this morning about the floods in Bangkok, didn't say anything what I didn't know already. That is the news I am keeping my eyes on the most. Everything else should be just peachy!

Re: Hua Hin floods
Most of the advisors on this forum do not recommend using the mini-buses as most of them are driven by former kamikaze pilots in their previous life, so if you can get a hotel transfer for 700 Baht, I would recommend that you take it. Ha......hotel transfer it is then! Don't really fancy whizzing a...

Re: Hua Hin floods
Thank you Margaretcarnes. The hotel offers a Bangkok-Hua Hin transfer for 700 baht but I have seen it cheaper with mini-buses from the capital. The travel agent said hotels reporting business as usual but just keep in touch with the news. I think we will be doing everything as planned, fingers cross...

Re: Hua Hin floods
Update from my travel agent. He says that hotels in Bangkok have not reported anything so it's business as usual. He has said all watersports and riverrides have been cancelled but they are monitoring the news on an hourly basis to see what will happen. But so far, everything seems to be ok. I think...

Re: Hua Hin floods
Cheers PJG, thought as much, I am thinking of avoiding Bangkok altogether but don't want to stay in Hua Hin. If perhaps we could fly to Koh Samui and then work our way up, that could be ideal. Shame, we have booked 8 nights in Hua Hin and would like to maximise our time there. I really need to speak...

How do I get to Ko Samui from Hua Hin? The island looks to be a long way off!

Re: Hua Hin floods
Thank you for the comments, really appreciate it. I think we are still definately hoping to get to Hong Kong and Hua Hin but may change Bangkok for maybe Macau or something else. What dates are the Loi Krathon festival and where and when does it happen? We definately don't want to cancel, Bangkok is...

Re: Hua Hin floods
That sounds encouraging. I am seeing if we can avoid Bangkok then and maybe stay in Hong Kong or even Macau for a bit longer - although flights are booked so we will have to see. Will the sea be clear and clean though? With evertything being pumped down from Bangkok, we would like to do some local s...

Hua Hin floods/situation
Hi all. I have seen a post earlier regarding the floods but alas I can't locate it. I have been watching the news recently and the floods in Thailand are very concerning. I have booked to go to Hong Kong on 11 Nov from London, then Bangkok on 15th and then down to Hua Hin on the 18th. Needless to sa...
