Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Myself, I'd never go back to owning an ICEV. Performance & savings being the reason. Quick & short out & about this past week ... 1285 kms cost Petrol vs Charging Station per km Petrol ... ฿2.348 per km (14 kpL @ ฿32.88 (91) Based on MG ZS as owning both versions Charging Station ... ฿0....

Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_gQ0AsvuUM&ab_channel=EcoHouseThailand Mod edit: We really don't need another thread on EV's so this has been merged with the existing one. There is one on climate change and carbon emissions here where the discussion can continue: https://www.huahinforum.com/vie...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Then again, let's look at the biggest suppliers and biggest polluters on a another scale. Still happy to buy Chinese to save the world?!! OK, it's not just EVs, but it's a big part of things from China, including Solar Panels and charging stations that you rely on. Let's not attempt to get into Mic...

Re: Ao Noi

Thanks for the video KhunLA, it looks lovely. Is it possible to walk out on the piers? Probably more importantly, if it is, do you know if they are wheelchair friendly? Yes, not problem. I've even driven down halfway, to take snaps. It's wide enough for trucks, as they unload the boats directly to ...

Re: Ao Noi

Just use Gmaps, as there 2 turns (?) that will get you down to where the larger boat pier is. Drive slow, as sois of small, and sort of blind curves back there. They just upgraded the road back there and built a walkway. #1 on map below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Q2vVtfRsFE&ab_channel=LAs...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

This is an article from the UK and I don’t know how frequent these type of issues are, but you can understand why some people are reluctant to make the change to EV’s. https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/news/somerset-news/drove-uk-seaside-town-electric-10215685# I've been countrywide here in TH, and ye...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

One of the worst characteristics of battery cars is that their battery packs, often weighing 500kg, are rarely recycled. They end up in a third-world landfill. Running out of things to complain about  Ours will be added to the solar system, in maybe 20 years or so, if the rest of the car can'...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

OK, you're completely biased against, others very much biased for. Personally, I'm still for hybrids at the moment, but only based on the UK. We all have our own opinion, but there are still some questions to be answered with regards to EV's for me - like the one regarding breaking (above) for exam...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Those things are crazy, a huge minivan thing that still does 0-100kmh in 4.5 seconds. Believe this or similar has been posted here previously, and my response is exactly the same.... "Just what the roads in Thailand need"!! Actually the performance makes for much safer passing. You don't ...

Re: Traffic jams on Rama II Road blamed for Hua Hin's decline

Just returned from Nakhon Pathom via Ratchaburi hwy 4, and was surprised how light the traffic was south of 4 / 35 intersection. I expected a lot more, since 4 day weekend for some, or people cutting out of BKK early for a 3 day weekend. TBH, really didn't seem that much heavier than regular weekday...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Should have plenty of water to waste during Songkran, as been raining here past couple days, and last week a couple days. Last night a heavy downpour and light show. Pretty sure all our water tanks are or will be topped up after today. Heavy rainy now. We're down @ PKK municipality area, 100 kms sou...
