Re: Fitbit or similar worn health smart devices

I apologize if what I posted constituted bragging. What I was trying to do was demonstrate a couple of real world examples of how a fitness device helped me by: • Discovering a previously undiagnosed heart condition. • Providing a plethora of workout data enabling me to better analyze just how well ...

Re: Fitbit or similar worn health smart devices

Well, that devolved into an I-excercise-more-than-you pissing contest quite rapidly! :offtopic: It's amazing how much the technology of "fitness" bands has changed. I ran the Guam Marathon every year from 1979 through 1995. For the first few years I ran with a heavy, bulky Seiko dive watc...

Re: Fitbit or similar worn health smart devices

My daily workout is, like yours, about 10K in 30 minutes. Once a week I do a longer one; usually 35K or so, but sometimes a bit longer.

Re: Fitbit or similar worn health smart devices

I love that ride. Good roads with bike paths or wide shoulders. Little traffic. Beautiful scenery. A few hours well spent. At age 75 I gotta keep moving.

Re: Fitbit or similar worn health smart devices

My wife and I have been using Apple Watches since they first came out. Yes, they are horribly expensive, but they fit in well with the Apple Fan-Boy infrastructure. I can't compare with other workout/health devices because I haven't used others. At this point I'm so used to having all that power on ...

Re: Wither Kellogg's All Bran?

I found myself at the Robinson's in Buriram the other day so visited Tops. They had dozens of types and brands of cereals, including Waitrose. But, alas, no bran. They did have a few other Waitrose products which fascinated me somewhat including mint sauce, brown sauce, cranberry sauce and hot horse...

Wither Kellogg's All Bran?

My wife and I like to sprinkle a little All Bran on our morning yogurt to keep our lives happy and regular. Unfortunately, All Bran has disappeared from the grocery store shelves both in Cha Am and Korat. I checked online and found nothing but extortionate prices. One vendor was offering six boxes f...

Re: Traffic jams on Rama II Road blamed for Hua Hin's decline

This is a guess, but I think it ends just before HWY 375 which heads up toward Ratchburi. Also under construction is an interchange between 375 and Rama 2.

Re: The Beer Thread 2

Not sure if this has been mentioned before. Nite Hunter has a new-to-me IPA. The ABV is 6.8% with an IBU of 45. I like it. I still like the M32 IPA better, but this is pretty good. As expected, it's brewed in Chachoengsao by Thai Spirit Industries. I bought the last two that Lotus's Cha Am had on d...

Thanks for all that. Amazing photos. Well done.

I'd like to think that's what I'd be doing if my wife weren't such a workaholic. :(

Re: Invasive Construction On Ruamjit (Beach) Road

Pushing a wheelchair is as close as I wish to get. :thumb: One of my best life friends (an Australian, no less) was a quadriplegic for his entire adult life as the result of an automobile accident. I visited him many times in Brisbane and, in spite of his lack of mobility, we made many road trips i...

Sad but true. To prove it to yourself, just imagine you're in a wheelchair when walking about.
